I'm glad I re-read the Enchantment Emporium before starting this, as I had forgotten a lot of the details of the Gales / Fey / Dragons, in the couple of years since.I enjoyed Charlies story, she had appeared as a character in the first book, so it was nice to follow her story and leave the Emporium. I do like that we fall into the politics of the internal family group / the family with the fey / the family with the rest of the world, Huff doesn't lead us by the hand, instead assuming we can take the nuggets of information and build our own vision of how they operate.Selkies / dragons / oil companies / slightly psychotic aunties, all appear in the tale, but ultimately its how Charlie and Jake (14 year old boy who occasionally goes all dragon) find their place in the family and the world. I am enjoying this world and these characters. They make references I get while dealing with magic and the UnderRealm. This one also deals with environmental concerns and oil wells in endangered areas...but it's not just "save the seals!" it's "save us! we're the seals!"It refers heavily to the first book (the Enchanted Emporium) but goes into more about the Wild powers. And Celtic music.
