Enjoyed this one more than Mortal Coil. Such an interesting twist is Skulduggery's story. Never saw it coming. I really like that Landy didn't set out to make Valkyrie this perfect, always right, always trying to please everyone character like you find in a lot of books heroines. It adds a depth and realness to her character that's very refreshing. That doesn't mean I like her though. She's an asshole. But it's all pretty understandable and real. She's behaving like any teenager would with power and boys running around after her, so I can't really hold that against her. Still, I don't like her. Interesting to see how the rest of the story develops.P.S. Her reflection gives me such anxiety. I don't trust it. P.S.S. Very much satisfied with how the Caelan situation panned out.P.S.S.S. Poor Fletch. I want to start this review by saying that I love this series. I've loved it ever since I read the last page of The faceless Ones and have continued to love it to this point. If you gave me this book 2 years ago, I would have said that this was the best in the series so far. It was great. It had a mix of drama, action and lighthearted comedy to make this book solid. But this book had the misfortune of coming after the incredible Mortal coil. Lots say that Mortal Coil was the worst book in the series but it sparked the guilty pleasure part of my brain making me love it. Now, this book, Death Bringer, wasn't as intense and didn't start a fire within me to make me passionate about it. And that fills me with regret.
