Eh. More like 2.5 stars. Nathan Steen reminds himself to do good deeds by moving six pebbles from his left pocket to his right, one at a time, with ever good deed he does. He's killed helping someone on the side of the road. His wife learns that he has a daughter and ex-wife he never told her about and is devastated. The book starts in the present, goes back to when he met his first wife, and then flips back to the present. The book is this.close to being religious, which was annoying as there was no stark giveaway (Christian publisher, mention of God on the back summary/preview), but worse, you could see the reveal a mile away, as well as the ending.On the plus side, it was reasonably engaging and a very fast read. Everytime I pick up this book I have a hard time putting it down because it is soooo good. I read most of it staying up all night last night.. I will finish by the end of today. I highly recommend everyone read it. Very inspiring!! Reading most reviews, everyone gets the idea of doing good things, but this book says so much more... Like about bullying; don't judge others...and about forgiveness for yourself and others..about what love can do and loss of a loved one; of how every choice we make affects everyone around us even when we cannot see the bigger picture at that moment.. Sometimes you don't know the whole story. This book is amazing and very well- written. One of my faves now. I wish I was Oprah so I could buy it for every single person along with a baggie of 7 stones.
