Beauty and the Beast a childrens story that causes more trouble than a book should. Brooklyn is called to see Ian about a book to be restored. She recognizes it as at one time it was hers. She had given it to her friend Max as a present. But it had been stolen 3 years ago before showing up. Brooklyn tries to find out who had it as Max was killed. All the protectors are in force Derek, her parents, Guru Bob and Gabriel. Brooklyn finds a slbook store owner dead and her car tire slashed indicating she is the target. Through the book, more bodies and close calls occur. Good I really enjoy Brooklyn in these books! She is such a normal person. And I really like Derek, he reminds me a lot of my husband. I had read "A Cookbook Conspiracy" before this. So I am not reading the series in order. It has not been a problem at all. I look forward to reading more books in the series.The story starts out with a a murder early on and it kept me guessing as to who the murderer was. I even suspected one of the good characters. Like I said, I really like these books and I really feel like I am a part of the "family" when I read these books. A very good cozy mystery series!
The mystery was the best in the series so far. As always the book making part was fascinating.
