This is my 2nd Bibliophile Mystery. I am still enjoying Brooklyn, Derek, & their friends, but this one seemed too much like a spy novel with a mixture of Shakespeare's tragedies - bodies everywhere. I got to know Brroklyn's family more, and they are fun. As I am not reading them in order (not planned), I am not sure just where I shall go next in this series, but I am definitely going - to read more of these. Very enjoyable characters except for Robin's mother ! I love Brooklyn Wainwright and I love this series! In this one, though she is more firmly in her relationship with Derek, she still expresses (perfectly normal) self-doubts and relationship doubts. Carlisle also explores, I think, Brooklyn's relationship with her best friend Robin a little more fully and shows that even when you love someone you can still get annoyed and perturbed with them without damaging the friendship. I'm amazed at how Carlisle continues to build a series of murders around Brooklyn and her career as a bookbinder (even though the books are often red herrings, the books are what ultimately pull Brooklyn and those around her into the maelstrom). This whole series is creative and fun. I can't wait to read the next one and I hope she continues writing them for a long time to come!
