I'm giving this 2.75 stars.This was a mixed bag for me. The story kept me reading but I wasn't in love with the plot. Looking for the elemental cross pieces reminded me of "Tiger's Curse" series. And this love triangle...good grief! Calla was so fickle it drove me crazy! Seriously...the way she was jerking Ren and Shay around, it was difficult to even like her character much less root for her. The ending was NOT satisfying in any "human" way to me. I did like some of the other character arcs that allowed us to see another side of the searchers and another view of Ren. I definitely felt the love scenes were too intense and provocative for A YA novel. There were parts I really liked and lots of action packed moments but overall I was disappointed in this finale. WARNING!!! May contain Spoilers!!! Okay, so the ending kind of had me confused for a bit, but it's great that Calla and Shay were able to be together even if they had to go back to their original forms... The only thing I didn't really like about this book is Calla's inability to make up her mind on who she wanted to be with... She was basically two-timing both Shay and Ren... But I am happy she ended up with Shay.... Honestly, I didn't like Ren at first because he was basically a jerk... And another thing that I couldn't stand was it being okay for the guys to fool around with other women, but if the women does it, they consider her to be disgraceful etc... And it's not that I'm saying that it is okay for either one because it's not... If you love someone you should be faithful to them and if you really loved and respected their decisions they would be able to control their "desires", but anyhow it's a great book and I really wanted to see Ren's and Adnes' sibling bond to grow before he had to die :(
