About book Mi Irresistible Conde (2012)

*****SPOILERS LIKELY*****Oh my gosh! If only the first two books were this good! This is what I was wanting from this series! I was so anxious to pick the book back up every time I had to put it down!First, Jordan is a vastly improved hero than the last two. There was some darkness to him, but he tried to balance himself out with thoughts of life and the reason he was fighting for his country. He saw his duty as just that, a duty to uphold and not as some tiresome burden he was forced to do. He was generally cheerful, but smart and handsome, had been pining for Mars for 12 years, all goods things for a good hero!Speaking of Mara, I really did enjoy her quite a lot. She wasn't some thick-headed silly girl - she had a good head on her shoulders, having grown up with ogres as parents, and then marrying such a terrible husband - despite it all, she could take care of herself and didn't wither at the first sign of stress or trouble. She was a tad overbearing as a mom, worrying over the tiniest sniffle, but if that was her only flaw - I'll take it.I did love Jordan and Mara's relationship and the way it developed. Yes, they were super attracted to each other, but the gradual buildup and courting was very sweet. I was right there with Mara, heart melting after he went with her to visit her horrid parents, taking the brunt of their badgering for her. I would have rewarded him the same way ;-)There wasn't a ton of movement on the Order/Promethean front, but a little. Tons of action and more talk about it. Oh and Drake! If his book isn't this good, I'll be so upset! Not too sure how I feel about Emily, his heroine. Hopefully his book does him justice! Another spellbinding book by Gaelen Foley about the rugged men of His Majesty's Order. In this third book, Jordan Lennox, the Earl of Falconridge must use his past with Mara, Lady Pierson, to help him ferret out a mole within the Prince Regent's inner circle. 12 years past, Jordan and Mara fell in love but he had to leave her and fulfill his duties with the Order. He asked her to wait for him but to escape from her terrible life with her parents, she soon married Viscount Pierson. As in the previous 2 books, I found the action and intrigue absolutely riveting. Add in more of the secondary story that revolved around captured agent, Drake, the Duke of Westwood, and it is downright entertaining. My one drawback from this book is that I didn't connect well with Mara. At various times, I found her to be a bit annoying. In the 12 years, she doesn't seem to have grown up much despite her horrible parents, her horrible husband and having a child. She is easily led to believe whomever is speaking to her, she throws tantrums and is basically very much like the teenage version of herself we meet in the book.Luckily, like the previous two agents we've met (Max and Rohan), Jordan is just as dashing and formidable an agent and helps carry the story between the two.I'm most anxious to continue and see where Drake and Emily's storyline continues as well as meeting more of the agents of the Order.
