I listened to the Audible version.A friend referred me to Josi's series and I am so glad that she did. This book was more than I expected, it was not a shallow story. The book was not filled with sex or swearing, just a very interesting story about friendship, caring, and not giving up. I hope that the rest of the books are as interesting as this one. When I really like books, I will go back in a couple years and relisten. This will go on my "to listen to again" list. I really do need a 3.5 star. I shouldn't complain too much about this book--I think within its genre it was really good, and if I were a better cook it would have appealed to me more, because there are some delicious-sounding, difficult-looking recipes at the end of almost every chapter. It's quite well-written, with a good plot and plot twists. My only complaint: I had a really hard time liking the main character, a busybody-turned-sleuth. She struck me as incredibly nosy, yet she's this amazing cook who patches up all her nosiness with some tasty treat as a peace offering (think Rachel Lynde + Rachel Ray + Miss Marple--it's a strange combo). So if you like food and mysteries (I'm afraid murder mysteries sort of turn my stomach), this is the series for you.

If murder mystery's are cute, that's what this is.
