I love to read Josh Kilpack's Culinary Mysteries. The books are a combination murder mystery and cook book. Any mention of something that Sadie makes is a recipe at the end of the chapter. it also includes Sadie's notes of what this fictional character changes in the recipe to make it better. This is the fifth of the series. You don't have to read them in order, but to grasp the full timeline you may want to. In this adventure Sadie is hires for private investigating. I love all the different threads of whodunit that leave you guessing. Blackberry Crumble was such a good story. I really liked that Sadie was "hired" to investigate a possible murder. I liked seeing her confidence in her work. I enjoyed this storyline and where it took place in Oregon. The other characters were interesting, and their storylines pulled me in and kept me intrigued. The recipes in this book are ones on the top of my list to try. I can't wait to make Blackberry Crumble. I was so happy that this Sadie book, was back to the old Sadie I loved to read about. Nice job Josi!
I liked the retired teacher turned detective. The recipes are temptin. Bacon Ice Cream?
