Story of Caden and Maddie. This is a continuation of the Hell's eight series. Maddie is viewed as crazy due to being abducted in the past and abused. Caden loves Maddie but feel that he can not be tied down. He promises Maddie that he will never leave without telling her bye. When he breaks that promise, Maddie decides to go and find him. Then Caden has to go after Maddie and rescue her. In the meantime, the group that has taken Maddie has accepted her and when Caden arrives they force him to marry Maddie. I love Sarah McCarty. Hell's Eight is a very good series about a group of young boys who lost their parents and all there loved ones and banded together to make a family with a woman named Tia. At the very beginning of this book we have Ms Tia marrying her Ed. It has been eight years but now that her wild bunch of boys seem to be settling down she is too.The little lost lamb Maddie who was born and raised in a whore house, forced to be a whore at the age of eight, rescued by Tracker and brought home when he was searching for Ari. Maddie has a crush on Caden and Caden is very gentle with Maddie he even calls her "Maddie Mine". When he decides to leave out of Hells Eight he promises Maddie he will tell her goodbye. But he doesn't keep his promise. So Maddie sets off after him.Maddie is stopped by a group of men of few miles from Caden, she is taken to the ranch of the owner. Several days later Ace shows up at the mine that Caden is working at and informs him that Maddie had left after him. He was hoping that she was with him. Caden is frantic, and the two of them now go searching.When they do find Maddie Caden is forced to marry her and give the rights to a very valuable colt of Hell's Eight. He is so furious when he gets alone with Maddie that he doesn't really want anything to do with her. He feels like she planned it.It will take alot before Caden calms down and wants to have a real marriage. But it is not long before he breaks another promise to the vulnerable Maddie again. Then the tables are turned and it will be Caden who has feel like a putz.Liked the story.
