Having just finished Pride and Prejudice, I was looking for something similar, but maybe more modern, to read – and this book sounded intriguing. Girl from 1813 wakes up in our time and adventures ensue, except that they don’t. Jane, the protagonist, wakes up in the body of Courtney (Courtney's story is another book), whose body she finds much more beautiful than her own, and whose friends, acquaintances, and love interests don’t seem much disturbed by her odd change in personality. Besides finding this a bit offensive, the entire book so far is Jane being dragged here and there by Courtney’s friends, taking the morals and technology of 2009 in stride… to me, her reactions just weren't believable. Also – for the audible version: Jane continues to think and speak in the manner of 1813, but the book states that she speaks with Courtney’s LA accent. You can probably ignore this in the written version, but listening to it is incredibly distracting, besides the fact that it doesn't make any sense. Your accent is part of your consciousness, not your body, why would Jane lose her accent?And since I’m nitpicking, you know how sometimes authors get overly fond of certain phrases or words? If I hear the word “countenance” one more time, I’m going to scream. Questo secondo libro mi è piaciuto molto, di più del primo, l'ho trovato più appassionante. Non riuscivo proprio a staccarmene e difatti l'ho finito in pochissimo tempo.Wes! Questo personaggio mi ha affascinata, davvero molto dolce, simpatico e carino. Finale: Mi è piaciuto, solo che ammetto che mi sarebbe piaciuto che Jane e Courtney si incontrassero faccia a faccia almeno una volta. Forse pretendo troppo... Saga (non proprio, ma vabbè): Consigliatissima!
