I enjoyed this. Not the most astounding cliff-hanger type book ever, but it was fun, and I needed some fun today. Rose was sweet, and I liked the other characters as well, so that made up for the somewhat predictable plot in my opinion. I didn't really get how it was supposed to be a sleeping beauty retelling (loosely based or not), but that could be because I'm not the most familiar with fairy tales to begin with.I'm now looking at the shelf full of other Melanie Dickerson books, though, and am starting to be slightly worried about how well they will differentiate from each other. We'll see how that goes later on. All in all, not the heaviest stuff, but I needed a little bit of lightening up, and the message of "trust God's plan, don't try to force it" was indeed what I needed to hear today. :) Overall, this book was a quick easy read, but very predictable. I didn't catch on that it was a fairy retelling of Sleeping Beauty until the last few chapters. There was a lot of religion in this book where its almost pushing against the reader. I personally don't mind books that have God in them a little bit or even mention him here and there... but this book was very excessive with religion towards the end. I truly had to push through this book. There are many factors about it that I wish could be changed to improve the store. The writing style in itself though, was perfect. The author had a great sense of detail, how to write, and how to move a story along, even if I wasn't happy with the story itself in the end.
Do You like book Şifacının Çırağı (2014)?
It was a cute story line and yes it was predictable, but I really like Melanie's writing style.
