You can tell a lot about a series by the first book. I have heard about this series for some time and after reading Charlie Cochet's North Pole Series I checked it out! LOVE LOVE LOVE It was amazing. I am so excited to read the other 2 in this series! Dex is by far OUTSTANDING. He's hilarious, witty, tough, and smart! Paired up with Sloane, you feel how unstoppable they are. The entire THIRDS team is so well put together and Charlie has done an outstanding job of describing and getting each character "screen time" I feel attached to them all! This was a high powered story full of suspense, mystery, humor, and even heart break. FABULOUS read! DNF at 35%!!!What a waste! I have such high expectations for this!This has one of my ultimate turn-offs in main characters.WTF! I thought Dex was going to be this alpha, serious-eyed detective who just had his career ended and got transferred to THIRDS. When he transferred to THIRDS, all of a sudden there's this HUGE personality change I don't know where that brave and serious detective went. He became this obnoxious 14 year-old! Wasn't he suppose to be 33 years old in the book?Just his first day at THIRDS he immediately gets into trouble, starting fights with one of the agents, all over a CHEESE SNACK!He flirts with a guy in the middle of a murder investigation. He claims he's not, he just speaking with them and just put on this fake modest BS act where claims he didn't know people think he's hot.Also he's became this snarky guy and the jokester of the crew but I'm sorry, I don't even find him funny!I really don't see his appeal no matter how hard I try. And I really hate the idea of immature characters in romance books and them getting the man of their dreams. It just gives me an excuse to hate them even more. Thank goodness I decided not to finish this at the earlier part of the book, it'll just give me unnecessary stress.lol Too bad. I was so excited about this book. Also this has a serious book cover and it fooled me. Didn't know this was going to be a bad chick-flick book. I know people will tell me I should've finish the book. Sorry, a character like Dex, I will just go all 'That's it, Bye!'
