Lots of action, tight knit team/buddies and romance. Just how I like it. Blood and Thunder picks up where the first book left off. Love the developing relationship and back story between Sloane and Dex and the antagonism of Ash to keep Dex on his toes. Good mix of drama, angst and humor. Dex does liven up Destructive Delta.Really bad villain that ups the tensions, causes city wide trouble and creates extreme danger for the team. The tension continued to escalate along with the problems faced by Destructive Delta. I was totally absorbed, especially as Dex and Sloane slowly opened up and learned more about each other. I had to keep reading to see what happened. This time, I already had book 3 waiting. Love this verse. More of Dex and Sloane....how could that ever be a bad thing? We pick up a short time after the ending of Hell & High Water. Isaac has managed to escape his apparent death and is causing problems for the Therians and for THIRDS. We see not only Dex & Sloane grow closer in this book, but also Cael & Ash and Calvin & Hobbes (still gets me every time). I like how Dex finally lets Sloane know that he isn't being fair towards him, both at work and in their personal lives. And FINALLY, FINALLY....we get some of Sloane's background and it makes me want to just snuggle up with him. I am so, so glad I was introduced to this series and I can't wait to see what happens in Rack & Ruin.
