About book Goddess Of The Hunt - Pelajaran Cinta Yang Tak Terlupakan (2010)
The first half of the book is a chore to read with the h being so single-minded in her pursuit of the om that I wanted to shake some sense into her. Besides looking scheming and wanton, she also didn't own up to what really happened before the wedding and let the H take the blame. Her behavior after the wedding is the worst, trying her best to not take up her duties and just doing it for the sake of it. Seriously, I don't know how she can have no skills at all. The problem is her attitude towards all this, she walks into this with eyes wide open, so don't know what her problem is to insist being an ignorant and wilful child.The H I adore. He is the typical aloof type with all his emotions all bottled up and once it overflew, it is like watching a volcano erupt. Yummy. Though he is protective of the h and adores the ground she walks on, this emotionally stunted man is just bad in explaining the reasons behind his behavior and showing his feelings. The misunderstanding I do understand given the fact that though they have known each other a long time, there isn't much time for both to get used to the new relationship development before they were wed. The h becomes a more likeable person the second hald of the book and it finally gives me the feeling that if not for her personality, things between the couple can never work out. She just basically runs roughshod all over the H, and her assurance is something that the H desperately needs to break out of the shell.The author did a great job at pulling our heartstrings (oh love it when he just makes the sweetest demand of the h that shows I read this to pass the time between after office hour and time to sleep. So I'm lucky that this book is so readable that I can finish it within the few paltry hours (or I have to forgo sleep just to finish it) 'Goddess of the Hunt' has been around for a while and I never really think that I would read it. It is not in my 'to-read' shelf whether in goodreads or in my mind. So when I picked it up I don't really have any expectation at all. So it was a pleasant surprise to find that I actually like it. Really like it. The story is a classic one, best friend's sister tried to seduce other best friend but turns her wiles to the one she supposed to be with. While the one she practice seduction with begins to see her in a new light. I see the story in two big parts, before and after the wedding. Before the wedding the story is lighter, where Lucy and Jeremy coming around to know that they are meant to each other but doesn't want to admit it (of course).The second part, after the hasty wedding, it turns a bit darker and angsty. Where there's miscommunication (I hope romance writers really stop using this plot - but Dare actually using it differently, so it's still okay, more or less) that leads to the unhappiness on both parts. It took them a while to finally communicating and finding out each other's feeling. Reading this was a time well spent and I can't wait to read about Sophia and Toby.
