I forgot to review this piece right after I've read it, before I forget what I've read. Damn, I have a terrible memory... So, here's the general impression.Everything in the book is happening away from Orders HQs, it's happening in Alaska. Again, nice to see some new places. However, the entire story was too slow. Nothing was really happening. Few events now and then and that's it. Up until the very end when things got a bit more exciting. It was just the same old falling in love, the same way as every other pair in this series. They like each other, but they can't be together... but they are because they can't keep their hands of each other... then they betray each others trust cause one or both of them are being stupid... but then they realize they can't live without each other... blah blah... yeah. Character development is not really the best part of this series. Some of them are better, but Kade is one of those that just appears in the plot, get's his book, and HEA. It left me indifferent. Again.What I DID like is that at the end of this book the general plot FINALLY get's a new turn! Something interesting is starting to happen. Something new. I wont say it, I don't want to spoil the best 10 pages of the book ;) Iniciei a aventura no mundo da Raça da Noite em Janeiro de 2012 e dois anos depois posso dizer que ainda não me fartei deles. A história vai evoluindo ao ritmo de uma descoberta por livro e com essa descoberta vem muitas vezes a ligação entre o protagonista e uma companheira de raça. Em Sombras da Meia-Noite chegou a vez de um dos mais recentes membros da Ordem ser confrontado com o seu passado, com os seus receios e ainda ter de desempenhar uma missão ao serviço da Ordem - Kade. Como se tal não bastasse, enquanto investiga os estranhos acontecimentos no Alasca, este cruza-se com Alex, uma mulher que de comum tem pouco e que também ela guarda um segredo que jamais ousou contar fosse a quem fosse... até conhecer Kade.A fórmula não tem grandes segredos, mas ainda assim Lara Adrian consegue não ser repetitiva, trazendo sempre um novo obstáculo, um novo conflito que faz suspender o ar à nossa volta e devorar o máximo de desenvolvimentos possível. Com Kade e Alex mergulhamos num mundo de trevas em que o terror consiste nos segredos que guardam em relação à própria família e que de alguma forma se irão cruzar. Ela, porque a mãe e o irmão foram mortos por seres malignos, não humanos, que ainda hoje a atormentam em sonhos. Ele, porque o dom que ele e o irmão gémeo, Seth, herdaram da parte da mãe, consegue subjugá-los se não houver autocontrolo suficiente e torná-los em autênticas máquinas de matança cedendo por fim ao Desejo de Sangue tornando-os Renegados.Em paralelo com estas duas histórias individuais, decorre a trama central de toda a série Raça da Noite. Um Antigo anda à solta e o seu neto Dragos continua desaparecido. As mortes no Alasca de inocentes não têm nada e é preciso conter a situação. Fiquei muito curiosa com o rumo que a autora deu a este tronco da história. O envolvimento do Antigo, as suas acções e reacções, surpreenderam-se e parece-me que o fim está longe de ser aquele que a autora dá a entender ao leitor, veremos.O estilo de narrativa é semelhante à das obras anteriores, empática, emotiva, com boas doses de adrenalina pelo meio e de acção rápida. Em termos de personagens, para além de sabermos mais sobre Kade, Lara Adrian proporciona a antevisão do próximo protagonista preparando terreno para o volume seguinte da série. Sombras da Meia-Noite é uma obra prazerosa, de leitura rápida e leve com mais uma história de amor de derreter os corações mais românticos com especial empatia por passados quebrados. Lara Adrain's Breed books are the bomb!!! I actually get into the characters and their lives. Not to mention the uber hot men!!! If you haven't started reading this series you really need to try it. It's not a standalone book so start at the beginning. I think this one is book 8 or 9. And it's about Kade and Alexandria and the Ancient who finally got loose from Dragos. It was only a matter of time before the Ancient got away because he was furious with his great grandson for inprisoning him in the first place. GrandKids what are you going to do with them well he had planned on murder!!! LOL!!!Loved it. To me this love story was a bit quick, he tells her his Breed and she is a Breed mate and low and bold she jumps into bed with a vampire even after she knows they can be dangerous. Also poor Jana was stuck with the Ancient for awhile (where was Alex) I'll tell you bumping it up with fine a** Kade that where. LOL.. It was pretty interesting and ends with the lead up to Brock and Jana's tale.

4, 4.5 stars. I think this was my favorite of the series, though to be fair, its been a good while since I read the earlier books. This one was so different from the others as far as the beginning, well, really like the first 30 percent and I liked it.I liked Alex, she was a decently realistic, strong, lead character and her decisions made sense and she didn't make me want to slap her nor was I banging my head against the wall.There was quite a bit going on. For everybody.The thing with Jenna was a surprise, looking forward to how that plays out.Kade was fantastically fantastic! Really adored him. he was tormented but wonderful.Waiting for Hunter's story...and Brock...I will continue with the series for sure.
