About book Gesandte Des Zwielichts (2009)

Took me awhile to finish this 1. There wasn't anything really wrong with it, I just got bored.Andreas and Claire just didn't hold my attention. The on going story line was great as always. I'm glad Roth is dead and Dragos has been forced to relocate, but the interaction between the 2 mains did not interest me at all and so the story dragged.Even the bits at the end where the main fight took place and the Ancient's escape failed to keep me. Definitely not working for me. I'd chalk it off to this being a silly series (with interchangeable characters), but I reviewed some of my reviews of other series books, and a few of them were pretty good. #3 and the last one, #5, specifically. Probably because the breedmates were interesting (one who gets her revenge and one who can beat the crap out of you, respectively). Claire is just...bleh. She doesn't have a real personality or talent besides being Andreas's lost love and the unfortunate current mate of Wilhelm (who, it should be mentioned, is evil). And Andreas, who was kind of an intriguing side character in earlier books, is also...watered down here (besides his pyrokinesis when he's super angry). His pyro abilities (and how much they damage him) are vaguely intriguing, but I just couldn't get invested in his and Claire's grand love affair (if not for that pesky--and don't forget EVIL, doncha know--Wilhelm Roth (and German! Because Germans are evil!) It took me forever to finish this, and the majority of the plot/characters seemed recycled. There are now so many 'Wuv, Twu Wuv' warrior and breedmate couples living in the compound that I can't tell the characters apart, they're all schmoopy and vaguely ridiculous, and the plot is the same--destroy the Ancient and Dragos, Mr. Big Bad. I'm tired of the whole series. Any book that breaks them out of their normal plot/location is better (like Book 5), but I don't want to start a new one only to discover it's recycled and then be irritated, like I have this one.Ugh, so many words about this book...it didn't deserve that many!

Do You like book Gesandte Des Zwielichts (2009)?

I was very disappointed in this one. Mostly because I was really looking forward to Reichen'S story since Claire was mentioned in the previous book. I feel like I walked into the middle if act two in regards to their story. I wasn't really invested in their growth with and without each other. I also didn't really like Claire. When she wasn't sneaking behind her current guy's back to help out an ex who dumped her out of nowhere, she was pleading with said ex to give up everything he believed in and worked for so she wouldn't have to be alone.Dont' get me wrong-some of the stuff they said to each other was beautiful. But I think I have to chalk that up to the writer'S ability to properly portray human (and inhuman) emotions. Although, I could do without so much of the Die Hard talk between the Warriors at times. I mean how many times can you retell a story that you kknow everyone is aware of now?
