Vrijwel meteen komt het verhaal op gang en lijkt het alsof je op een rollercoaster terecht komt. De familie van de Strijders breidt zich alweer een beetje uit en het is heel leuk om te lezen hoe Lara Adrian voor ieder van haar karakters de perfecte partner weet tot leven te brengen in haar verhalen. Ook dit vijfde boek valt geen enkel ogenblik stil. Enkele sluiers worden opgelicht en leggen een klein stukje bloot van het grootschalig complot dat zich aan het ontplooien is. Ik kijk alvast volop uit naar het volgende boek in deze zinderende Middernacht-reeks. Your answers await you in Veil of Midnight.I think this book is critical turning point for this series. The Order has finally gained an unexpected advantage they can exploit. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
Nikolai, oh Nikolai... What can I say?These books are just so fast paced and well written that you basically start it and then, all of the sudden it's over. You have no idea where time went or how it could be possible that one book was over that quick, but this is just Lara Adrian's way.Renata certainly is something different and I absolutely enjoyed to see how she and Nikolai came to be close. For someone like her to trust someone like him definitely must have been a hard lesson. How can you be sure that there won't be someone else coming around the corner, ready to use you? How can you be sure that he'd not send you away even if you promised someone else you'd always take care of them?I think it's one thing to save one person, but it's a totally different thing to not let yourself be saved until you protected what mattered to you most.wanna know what I mean? ~ First Reviewed 2010 ~The Midnight Breed series is amazing and as usual Lara met my expectations with this book. It is one of my favourite, I couldn't put it down. The way Nikolai and Ranata instantly became attracted to each other had me hooked. Their relationship was steamy as hell, packed full of love, lust, and a little emotional turmoil to boot. I love the way he constantly tried to protected her, and how he instantly fell for Mira. It takes a strong man to accept another's child as his own so easily. I also love Renata's take-no-prisoner's attitude, she is one tough woman. If you're a big paranormal romance fan then I advise you to go to your nearest bookshop and buy this series.

Have read 1-5 in this series. She's another good one, creating a vampire world worth reading.
