I rarely give a bad review, but I just didn't like this book at all. I pretty much skimmed through it because it never really grabbed my attention. It had a couple of good points, which is why I didn't stick with the 1 star rating that I initially considered. The main brothers' characters were interesting, and well developed, but the heroine, secondary characters, and the plot didn't do them justice. The so-called romance was more obsession and lust than anything lasting. And since vampires are immortal, you would think an author would try to create a better foundation for a relationship. Basically, the book had 3 brothers that readers could really like, and then gave 1 of them a stupid, annoying girl, and had all 3 of them treated badly and pushed around by the ruling vampires and their society. How are readers supposed to enjoy that? I personally like books with a happy ending, and this just didn't do it for me. 3.5 starsDO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T READ ETERNAL HUNGER! SPOILERS.I had a feeling of deja-vu of I think I read this story before somewhere. The book's premise was a variation of a common premise - coincidence that his mate was under his nose, a doctor was involved, there is a mean old Order so its us against them, a central puppet-master ba dguy (the Supreme One) behind-the-scenes and his minions. This is similar of other book series I've read before this one though it did have a few it's own story twists. It reminded me of series by JR Ward - BDB and Lara Adrian - Midnight Breeds just from the top of my head.I wanted to like it more than I actually did. I was only able to give it 3 1/2 stars.Like - There was some interesting feature's of Alex's morph specifically with the strengths he had long with weaknesses. I like how the Order can manifest messages on the wall and then self-destruct/erase them. The order seems interesting because they are still kind of a mystery. Wow - an albino vampire (Lucian)? - I still can't picture him hot as the author says he is. Interesting about the blood castration of the Impures. How did they not see that one day someone would revolt? That was so rude of the castration. The dialogue between the brothers was very funny.Dislike - I could not connect with the main two characters Alex and Sara. Their relationship was so forced. I know in books one has to progress the relationship fast. But they did not mesh well. The book left us hanging with Bronwyn's part in all this without fully setting it up properly before she left the Roman brother compound. Can a sister get a glossary of terms? Geez! Additionally, I didn't like Nicolas's character setup. To me, he was this leveled headed guy then she flipped the script to him being an addict. I guess I'm only complaining because a previous said author had a addicted vampire and his book was my least favorite out of her series. I apologize for the transference of feelings.Questions:- How can they make someone go thru morpho faster when it was never done before (as they say)? Why would the Order wait until now to push someone to pre-morph a century before the 300 years?- Who is this secret person Bronwyn working for?- How did Alex only find at the end Sara's mark like his? He was touching her all the time before that he never touched in at all that time before?- Will each Roman Bro manifest different strengths and weaknesses in subsequent books?
