About book Coraline: A Visual Companion. Stephen Jones (2009)

I think that I like that the story is kind of horror. That is because the part when the mother(fake) turns into a long-necked human-being suddenly and tries to eat Coraline up. Coraline did not believe what the women said to her that lives downstairs. One of the women said that Coraline is in danger but the other woman said that she could see a giraffe in the future. And Coraline did not believe what the man upstairs which is Mr. B or Mr. Bobinsky. That man said that his mice tried to tell her that do not ever go and open the door of her house. She said that that door was already blocked so she cannot go inside. One day, she opened the door and she went inside which was like a tunnel. When she reached and saw that she was in the same house. SHe went to the kitchen and smelled roasted chicken and saw her mother with botton eyes cooking. She thought that was awkward because her mother does not know how to cook. The mother with botton eyes told Coraline to go and call her father that it was ready for supper. She went inside her father's room and saw her father playing piano. She also thought that was awkward. That is because her father always works on his computer, not his piano and her father does not know how to play. She woke up the next morning and saw her father cooking but not her mother cooking food. In this book the protagonist is Coraline. Coraline is also teh antagonist. The theme of this book is man vs. self. Coraline get's stuck in a dark room and notices her parents begin to change into something creepy. When Coraline first experienced the creepiness of her parents, she tried to run away and she was afraid. She felt herself changing into her parents, for example button eyeballs, and weird meals to eat. She began running back toward her parents because she decided that if she try to save others she could also save herself. Like it was said from a young ghost "Coraline please save us and release us, it will be the only way you can escape". Coraline changed and took the ghost's word and ended up being back regular.
