I'm giving this graphic novel a five-star rating for my enjoyment of it and the plot/story line as if it were the original. I know there is a book series that this is based off of, however the graphic novel is what I read first.I plan on reading the novels in the future, and I'll give them their own ratings. In short, I really enjoyed it, and it was exciting and interesting. The artwork was beautiful, and I hope to see more of the series in graphic novel form in the future. Fresh take on the vampire mythos.......unaffected by daylight, garlic, and religious iconography the Blue Bloods are fallen angels who have been cursed to be immortal vampires in order to win their way back into heaven (how that works hasn't been revealed yet). Beautiful Skylar is heiress to an impoverished estate, has blue tracers showing up under the skin on her arms, a mother in a coma, no father to speak of, and a bewildering attraction to Jack; an equally beautiful, privileged young man who brings her visions of their past lives together when they kiss. With a supporting cast that includes Jack's snobby rich-bitch sister Mimi, Skylar's best friend who's kind of in love with her Oliver, Texas transplant trying to fit in Bliss, and sexy bad-boy outsider Dylan, it's captivating and sure to hold anyone who's a little on the dark side's attention.
