About book Bleach Volume 26: The Mascaron Drive (2009)
We're back again with more action-packed Bleach! Usually I just dive right to the events that happened in the volume, but I've decided to have at least a tiny introduction before I do so, (even if every single one says: "Action-packed and battle filled").I was wondering how Momo was doing a while ago, but since she was never mentioned, I unfortunately forgot about her...Captain Hitsugaya, AKA Tôshirô, seemed more grown up while talking to Momo. Maybe it's because of his height, but I've never been able to get over how young he is for a Captain. It also seems like he was drawn just a little bit taller in some of the panels during this scene, which made him appear older. It was a sweet part, but I don't like how Tôshiô, (yes, I called him that!) kind of ruined the sweet apologetic moment by saying that Momo looks like a kid and needs 10 years of sleep to compare to Matsumoto. Funny, but heartbreaking to Momo. And then he scolded her for calling him Tôshirô. If they were/are such great and close friends, he should at least let her call him by his first name. :/A quick peek at Chad and Renji's training, then we zoom past to see that Orihime found where Ichigo is also in training, and she can easily slip past the force fields created by Hachi. They discover that Orihime and Hachi have very similar abilities, and he helps her heal Tsubaki. (I'm surprised Tsubaki didn't practically kill her for kinda killing him).Uryû is still training with his father, but you find out he wasn't exactly crazy for make Uryû dodge, (he still might be crazy) but was pushing his mind and body to their limits, and then shot a spirit arrow 19 millimeters to the right of the Geary's Sinoatrial node, (whatever that means). Although it seemed like he was trying to kill his own son, he was honestly helping him. (Surprisingly).Ikkaku gets a new sense of fashion, Kisuke informs Orihime she cannot join the battle without Tsubaki, Chad gets mad for the first time ever, Orihime and Rukia talk it out, (then later battle it out for practice), Hiyori kidnaps Orihime to bring to Hachi, Ichigo's up to only 11 seconds of being Hollowfied, blah de blah etc.Aizen found out that when the Hôgyoku, in a dormant state with its seal removed, is joined with someone who possesses twice the spirit energy of a Captain, it's full power is released. This is how he keeps making new Arrancars so quickly and so soon.Grimmjow, Yammy, Luppi, (the new #6), and Wonder Weiss Margera, (the newbie) come to the world of the living. Grimmjow and Ichigo start an intense battle, and Luppi takes over for everyone else. But where is Ulquiorra...?I still don't really understand what the Visoreds are doing to Hollowfy. It looks like they're just waving their hand in front of their face and they're good. ...? Okay then...I took a short break, but now I can keep reading now that this review is done!! :3 Bleach was definitely very interesting to read and different to what I usually read. I enjoyed the whole soul reaper concept and how we find out more and more about the main character as the story goes on.It's a fast read and is easy to understand but gets progressively more difficult to follow parts of the story due to there being so many different characters that can be qualified as important in the progression of the story.I would recommend it for the story line and the graphics but I do feel like there are a certain amount of plot holes or at least not detailed out enough parts. I give the series 3 stars, the beginning possibly deserving 4 stars and slowly falling to 3 stars.
