About book Bleach Volume 25: No Shaking Throne (2008)
Noo Zangetsu! NERRR!!!!I'm going to talk about this first, and then go back to the beginning of the volume.I was wondering for the longest time why Zangetsu was just totally okay with Hollow Ichigo was just taking over. Now I know that Zangetsu was kind of... 'Swallowed up' by Hollow Ichigo. It's kind of sad, because when you think of it, they were really the same person. Zangetsu is really awesome and determined to make Ichigo powerful, but then Hollow Ichigo/Zangetsu (don't know what to call him anymore,) just seems to want to kill Ichigo. There was also that extremely short conversation after Ichigo and Hollow Ichigo's first battle, (except Ichigo didn't realize that he was fighting his inner Hollow), when Hollow Ichigo said to Zangetsu: "Train him well, he'll be mine soon enough," or something like that. I know the second part of that was not worded the way he said it, but he said something pretty similar. Zangetsu knew the whole time that eventually he'd 'lose' to Ichigo's inner Hollow, but he never really made a fuss about it. And still the fact that they're the same person... UGH I CAN'T GET OVER IT!Okay, now to the beginning of this volume. Instead of saying "I'm joining you," Ichigo admits that he is going to use the Visoreds to tame his inner Hollow. This starts a full on battle with Shinji, who is eventually kicked (punched) aside by Hiyori. She then taunts him trying to Hollowfy him, but once she gets her wish he nearly kills her.I'm not exactly sure why Ichigo's spiritual pressure disappeared since he has such a powerful one. :/I wonder what the other Vidoreds think of Ichigo, because majority of what they see of him is his insane Hollow self, so they may think he's totally crazy when he's normal. Too bad. They really should have just taught him how to Hollowfy right away. Ichigo does NOT have the patience to wait 3 days for his actual training to start. When Ichigo is part Hollow, he's always smiling. :3He also is using his Bankai quite often. Captions in the Soul Society never use it unless they absolutely have too, but Ichigo seems to be using it all the time, not keeping in mind the couple advantages it gives him. Especially fighting against himself, using Bankai may not have been necessary.Having Kenpachi show up shocked me, since he just came out of nowhere. It's good that he taught him how to defeat himself, (by instinct and the will to fight) but how did he contact Ichigo? Or was it Ichigo just reminding himself? Ichigo as a complete Hollow looks quite intense, but yet it really isn't him, nor the other version of himself because they were both fighting one another.Even though he defeated his inner Hollow for now, he still hasn't exactly 'tamed' him, so how is that going to work?Captain Hitsugaya and Matsumoto somehow managed to get an emergency link set up inside Orihime's house, and the Captain General informed them that Aizen's true objective is to recreate the Ôken and kill the King. The volume ends with Renji and Chad battling under Kisuke's supervision, Orihime trying to find everyone else to inform them of the new information, and Ichigo, who is most going to need to recover from his battle, (both internally, and externally.)Manga... AWAY!!! This volume focused a lot on Ichigo and his struggle to control his inner Hollow. By the end Ichigo discovers that he must accept his need for battling opponents and a killer instinct to overcome his Hollow form. I find it very intriguing that Hollow Ichigo and Zangetsu are basically two sides of the same coin. It essentially comes down to the fact that Ichigo will not reach his full potential as a Soul Reaper unless he accepts his Hollow powers.
