This was a nice new twist on the popular magic/ sorcerer theme. I enjoyed the fresh story line and the writing was good enough to keep me entertained though not exceptional. I will say a plug for the second book in the series which was a bit better in writing and overall. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something fresh. It is kind of a bit of steam punk meets magic in the 1950s. It doesn't take place on Earth much less the 1950s but it has its own style that is refreshing. Ha- another one of those books that I find in a 'Recommended' List because it sounds similar to the books I like. I downloaded a sample of this months ago, read 2 pages, and proceeded to ignore it. Then, when I'm dying for a new book to add to my pile, I realize, "Why didn't I keep going?!" What a fun read- the characters may not be fleshed out as wonderfully 3-dimensional as I always like, but when you have such a fun, cool plot to keep the roof up- who cares? Loved it- I'm now going to find the rest in the series, but I won't ignore them this time.
Do You like book Balanced On The Blade's Edge (2014)?
Once again Lindsay has delivered a book I couldn't put down. It was action packed and fun!
