About book Amulett - Molnsökarna (2013)

This, the third instalment of the Amulet series has just as gorgeous background art as the previous volumes, but the character art is still a bit lacking a. The storyline is solid if a bit rushed, never letting down on the action in order for the reader to actually get to know the main characters and thus care for them. It's quite interesting to read these books as an adult, with presumably about the same knowledge/experience of pop culture as the author, as it is so obvious what the inspiration has been for most of the ingreedients of the storyline. In this book for instance, there is a captain of a rouge ship that is very obviously taken from Han Solo in Star Wars, even though he´s an older, anthropomorphic character and drives a zeppelin as this is ore of a cyberpunk scenario. I'm still not fully convinced by this series, which, even though it is very good for it's intended audience, lacks a little something in originality. Leon, a member of the resistance, has told Emily they need to find the lost city of Cielis to get help. To do that they have to find an airship and captain crazy enough to take them, and then of course they just have to find the legendary city. Meanwhile, the Elf King's son is officially in trouble with his father and on the run while trying to think of a way to dethrone his dad. Oh, and there's a hired mercenary out to get just about everyone who also wouldn't mind taking over the Elf King's throne.Again the plot line continues to build in interesting ways, and the artwork continues to impress. Did I mention before how much I like the full page spreads? I will say the only annoyance I have with the series starts in this book. Once their mom is up and conscious again, Emily and Navin seem to act like she is the kid. It's a bit annoying how they treat her (though I think it's not supposed to be annoying, just appeal to kid readers that the kid characters know more than their mom...but it comes off badly).

Do You like book Amulett - Molnsökarna (2013)?

These graphic novels are a light read. I think they are fun and interesting with nice action.

A little too reminiscent of Star Wars (the first movie from '77) but still fun and exciting.
