About book Amulett: Flykten Från Lucien (2014)

The Amulet series is a mash-up of fantasy tropes of magic, and elves and a quest with SF elements such as giant robots, alien monsters and spaceships. It is also the blends the boundaries of quest stories and young apprentices having to come through to save the day. The quest and war do not seem over so the end is not yet nigh. The artwork was in keeping with the mix of elements and added to the story. Enjoy. I received an advanced copy of this from a special end of summer event at my local library. It was not in full color yet; in fact a large portion of it was all white and sketches. I thought that was great and I enjoyed myself thoroughly.I still find Emily slightly annoying I will be honest. Not for any real fault of hers just simply because she never seems to see the problems happening with the people around her. Something happens to her little brother? “Don’t worry he can handle it” moves on as if nothing happened.So...some annoyance. But at least she isn’t a whiny teen protagonist. Oh please anything but that.WARNING! Spoilers Ahead:I had heard rumors that someone was going to die in this volume…Those rumors were surprisingly correct. And now with the discovery of a new prophecy I am happy to report that my favorite character Trellis will probably be receiving more attention in future volumes.I still loved volume 5 more, but this will do for now.

Do You like book Amulett: Flykten Från Lucien (2014)?

Really well put.I felt the exact same way including Emily.I mean it was sort of odd when after the attack absolutely no one including Mr.Hunter is completely freaking out like Robert was that six CHILDREN (why do they send children into battle?) are most likely dead. Also I really do hope Trellis gets more screen time as during nearly the whole book up to that moment he was almost completely ignored which was a bit disappoint.Either way good job.

Finally book six arrives. It feels like a long wait for this volume and with two years between it would have benefitted from a basic "the story so far" blurb but I settled back into the story fairly quickly. The plot is piquing at this point and we have the first resolution within this intricate quest fantasy. The main characters have developed and progressed so much since we first met them. Kibuishi gives the story real emotion by allowing characters to perish in the act of duty or as inevitable retribution but we also see the return of characters set aside a few books ago which always brings delight when there is a lovable recurring cast. The art, as always with this series, is stunning and almost seems ready for big screen. Great addition to the middle grade quest fantasy series.

The plot/storyline in this volume is particularly interesting, and I really like the few new characters that were introduced. It was nice seeing some of the old ones too, who we hadn't seen in a couple of volumes. :] It was also nice getting to experience so many different settings and POVs. This volume definitely had a lot of variety, and kept me highly entertained the entire way through. I sped through it without too much difficulty, and now, of course, I am dying for the next instalment in the series. It looks like I'll be waiting at least a year for it though. :/ Boo.

I kind of forget where all of this began... The book was consistent with previous volumes though.
