Okay I truly enjoyed this book from beginning to end.An adventure that led in a wound, rumored dead Bennett Wolfe comes home to find his journals stolen and published for someone elses, his reputation in tatters, and more surprising the first time he truly feels for drawn to a woman who may interrupt his plans of revenge, and the adventurer must turn gentlemanPhillippa aka Flip has admired Mr. Wolfe for his grand adventures and books written full of scenaries, so much to her dismay when the rumored dead adventurer stumbles into her reading group.A man used to taking what he wants or moving faster than society, a girl who has never been pursued or seen as a woman, made for an interesting tale I liked the main characters and the chemistry between them was believable. I really liked Phillipa (Flip) - serious and clever without being boring or a know it all. Bennett isn't a typical Regency hero which I liked. He's brash, unkempt and everything an adventurer should be. The adventurer part was fascinating and unique - not a typical Regency Romance. I also liked that he was "mother" to a monkey.I was annoyed on Bennett's behalf for his stolen journals and ruined reputation. I wanted him to find justice which kept the story interesting and kept me reading. I'm not as convinced with the "giving it all up for love" stance he takes though as it seemed out of character. The ending seemed rushed and I didn't feel like everything was resolved. Also I'm not sure what the point of the Adventurers Club was. The club was set up, but nothing was really done with it. While the writing is good this isn't the author's best work. I'd be interested to visit the characters again especially if the author actually does something with the club. I liked it, but I didn't love it.
Do You like book Zkrocení šarmantního Rebela (2013)?
Romantic, adventurous, smutty. Just right.
