I enjoyed this book more than the first book. Jess made the story for me. I loved her spirit and strength. She had a horrible experience growing up, but she still was able to work through it and become a good person. Dimitri, on the other hand, held on to his anger and hate. Revenge brought them together but they find each other in the bargain. Again a well written story that had action and excitement. Some of the dialogue between the characters made me laugh. Jess could find humor in most things. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. Copy received through Netgalley I really love this series so far! It’s different…the sexy pirates and story I just find fascinating and outside the norm of what is out there currently! Bella’s writing gets better and better with each book…the character development, the story lines…she is one of my go to authors when I need something to get me out of a book funk! 4.5 starsEnslaved by the Ocean left us with a cliffhanger that set up Dmitri and Jess’s story perfectly, things take off from there. Dmitri is seeking revenge on Hendrix; Dmitri blames Hendrix for his mother’s death and deserting him to be hurt as a teenager. Hendrix is Dmitri’s stepfather. Dmitri kidnaps Jess because he knows Hendrix will come for her, what Dmitri doesn’t expect is to start having feelings for Jess. Dmitri and Jess are both damaged souls, but yet they find a way to touch each other lives. The problem is they have outside forces working against them, Dmitri being consumed by revenge, and their past to overcome.Loved this one, it was sexy, exciting, dark, and consuming! I definitely recommend you read Enslaved by the Ocean and Where Darkness Lies!*Reviewed by Brandi
