It was an ok book. The title captured you immediately, but the storyline was slow and abit dragging... and the reference to god being a rabbit was only a tiny part of it. It almost felt like a false advertisement. The author covered too many significant and hard subjects (ie. the sexual abuse, the friendship, the strong relationship between siblings, between husband-wife, the husband-wife-and-the-sister-in-law-she-also-loves, the friendship between interesting individuals, the loss, the 911 event, the lost of memory....) All these in one small book, and was only touched on a superficial level. I turned the last page feeling unsatisfied and blah... and abit like a fool for falling for the false advertisement and empty promises. I with a lot of reviewers who thought that this started well and then somehow lost its way. The plotting and characterisation seemed uneven, with minor characters suddenly assuming much greater significance and not really fitting within the overall story arc. I absolutely loved the title, and the first part when Elli was a child was indeed, as many reviewers said, captivating. I hope Sarah goes on to write more books.
