Stories of hope and healing in a sequel to Same Kind of Different as Me. Oh, the power of obedience to the Spirit’s direction and being willing to risk loving!To see how Same Kind of Different served as motivation for others to live and act their Christian beliefs is such an encouragement. It was good to see the relationship between Dallas and Ron continuing and growing. Another great story by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. I appreciated all the lives that were affected by their first book and I enjoyed reading about how different people were able to use their talents and gifts in their corner of the world to help others who are less fortunate. I also liked reading about the personal relationship of Ron and his dad and the mending that took place there. It's hard to love someone with out judging them, especially when they are your own family and are so close to you.From this book I learned that "You never know whose eyes God is watching you through...more than likely it's gon' be that bum on the street." We need to be in the service of our fellow men. It's true that when we serve others, we are serving God, so why wouldn't God be watching us from the eyes of our fellow men? It's a very sobering thought.Also, I learned that you should never withhold kind words from the people you love. This is something that I'm afraid I do too often. I "think" so many nice things and "think" so many "thank yous" but I don't seem to say them or put them into words as notes. I NEED to do this more before the time slips away or the moment forgotten.Finally, from this book I learned that we are judged by OUR compassion and how we live OUR lives. We don't need to concern ourselves with what people are going to do with the goods and services that we give them or how we treat them. That is up to them. "God commands us to love, not calculate the end game. It is only when Joe is loved without strings that he is set free to (eventually) turn a corner and voluntarily become accountable to those who have placed faith in him."
