This is my most fave book from the whole book that I've evr read!!!Gw beli buku ini sekitar taun 2007-an, nemu di toko buku Toga Mas di Jogjakarta.Kenapa ini selalu gw bawa ke mana-mana dan gw baca berulang-ulang tanpa bosan?Inilah beberapa kalimat yang berhasil gw kutip di bab awal :Seorang ksatria cahaya tahu bahwa ia memiliki banyak hal yang patut disyukuri. Dia tidak perlu diingatkan tentang bantuan yang diberikan orang lain padanya, ialah orang pertama yang mengingatnya.Seorang ksatria cahaya tahu ia bebas memilih hasrat-hasratnya, dan ia membuat keputusan-keputusan ini dengan penuh kepastian, kerelaan dan kadang-kadang dengan sentuhan kegilaan. Ia tahu tiada gunanya membualkan rasa nikmat penaklukan, mereka adalah bagian kehidupan dan membawa kebahagiaan pada setiap orang yang terjun di dalamnya.Seorang ksatria cahaya tidak mengandalkan kekuatannya sendiri. Pengalaman yang berulang ini memiliki satu tujuan : mengajarkan padanya apa yang tidak ingin dia pelajari.Seorang ksatria cahaya tidak selalu membuat keputusan yang tepat. Mereka menderita karena hal-hal yang sangat biasa. Mereka memiliki pikiran-pikiran yang biasa pula dan kadang-kadang mereka percaya mereka tidak bisa berkembang. Mereka kerapkali menganggap dirinya tidak layak mendapatkan berkah dan anugerah. Itulah kenapa mereka disebut ksatria cahaya, karena mereka melakukan kesalahan-kesalahan. Karena mereka sering bertanya pada diri mereka sendiri. Karena mereka mencari sesuatu alasan dan yakin bisa menemukannya.Seorang ksatria tidak takut bahwa, bagi orang lain, sikap dan tindakannya akan kelihatan sangat gila. Ia berbicara keras-keras ketika sedang sendiri. Ia mengatakan hal-hal yang tidak disetujuinya. Ia mengatakan segala omong kosong. Hingga suatu hari, ia memperhatikan ada sesuatu perubahan dalam suaranya. Ia sadar sedang bertindak sebagai saluran beberapa kebijaksanaan yang lebih tinggi.Meskipun demikian, selalu ada seseorang yang ingin membuktikan dirinya lebih baik dari pada sang ksatria. Namun baginya, tidak ada yang lebih baik dan lebih jelek, karena setiap orang memiliki kelebihan tertentu selama memiliki jalan tertentu. Ia tidak akan membuang waktunya dengan mendengarkan provokasi tersebut, ia memiliki takdir yang harus dijalaninya sendiri.Walaupun sudah menyia-nyiakan apa yang dia miliki, seorang ksatria cahaya tidak menyesali banyaknya kesulitan yang ditemui, karena merekalah yang membawanya ke tempat yang ingin dia capai. Dibawanya serta tanda-tanda dan luka bekas pertempuran. Itulah saksi dari apa yang sudah dideritakan dan balasan apa yang sudah ditundukkan. Dia hidup karena dia adalah seorang ksatria dan berharap suatu hari nanti akan menjadi bagian yang tak terpisahkan dari-Nya, Dzat yang menjadi tujuan perjuangan beratnya selama ini.
This book was very inspiring to me. It was the right book at the right time. And with being a psychotherapist I have often had very similar thoughts as Paulo Coelho when I work with people, helping them through their pain and suffering. The book is beautifully written and full of symbolism. The Warrior of light served as metaphor for those who serve God and are not perfect, but human striving toward God's light. Thought I would include some quotes below from Paulo Coelho's book. "Like the fighter, the Warrior of Light is aware of his or her immense strength, and will never fight with anyone who does not deserve the honor of combat". "A Warrior of the Light might not understand the Almighty's intentions, but he allows his life to develop according to His creator's plans. He asks to be spared suffering, he asks for joy in the Good Fight, but he never forgets to add, " Thy will be done."" The Warrior plunges unhesitatingly into the river of passions always flowing through his life."" A Warrior can distinguish between the transient and enduring."" Why bother to sword fight when you are so much better than they are?" asks a traveler regarding the Warrior of light sword fighting with his students."Because in challenging me, what they really want is to talk to me, and this is my way of keeping the dialogue open," replies the Warrior." A Warrior of light does not waste his time listening to provocations, he has a destiny to fulfill. He tries to establish waht he can truly rely on. And he always checks that he carries three things with him: faith, hope and love.If these three things are there, he does not hestitate to go forward."
Do You like book Warrior Of The Light (2004)?
Normally I wouldn't read something like this. It's bordering on self help & I'm not interested in those type of books. Paulo Coelho is a great writer however & I have purchased most of his books so I got this one too. I can't say I regret it. The book just makes you feel really... good. Happy. Hopeful. Like you can do anything. Written in a fable like & rather poetic way, you can't help but believe that the world is as beautiful as this book makes it seem. That you can be strong & kind & good to everyone & yourself. It was worth the couple of hours I spent reading it.

Inspiring! Everyone should read this book!Though Warrior of the Light: A Manual, by Paulo Coelho, is very different to many of his other works, it is no less inspiring nor any less thought provoking.This collection of short notes, thoughts, ideas and inspirations, should not be read all at once, but rather read and savoured over the course of several days or even weeks, in order to fully take in and reflect on everything that is written.Since we are all in different places in life, have reached different goals on our paths, we can all take something different from this book, what will feel true with us, is naturally gonna be individual and unique. But I do believe that everyone can take something from this book and use it in their own lives. I for one, will be reading this book again, because it is my firm belief that each time it is re-read you can take something new and valuable from it.
