I had the same problem with this book as I had with the last one of hers. There are a couple of key plot elements that just get brushed over or completely dropped at the end, and you're left wondering. For example, Olivia has a miscarriage and the father of the baby finds out after she yells it at someone else and he overhears. He asks her if it was his, she says yes and leaves. Then since all he heard was that she lost the baby, she thinks that he might think she aborted it. But apparently if he thinks that then he doesn't know her at all. Do the two of them ever talk about this again? No. Do the two of them get together at the end? Yes. Do you think that he would bring it up? Something along the lines of I'm sorry you had to go through that on your own? Nope. Never mentioned again, even though it nearly destroyed her at the beginning of the book. *sigh*The book was okay but it could have been better and I'm disappointed that it wasn't. This has been an unexpectedly pleasant read. I literally stumbled upon it while I was browsing my to-read list in my Kindle and the title enticed me, as I guessed it would be a second chance love story.I've actually only just noticed it's book #3 in a series, but it definitely can be read as a standalone. Now I'm curious to read the other books. The book starts with two male characters, which is weird as most of the books I've read recently started with the heroine, and I thought that was intriguing. I can't deny I had a little trouble getting into the story because there were too many unanswered questions in the first chapters but once the story started developing I became engrossed and I didn't want to put it down.I liked the characters, including the side characters and although I found it unusual that the story gravitated not around one couple but two, it was woven flawlessly from one chapter to the other and it did make sense. I was happy to read about both couples and their stories.I liked that the author included an epilogue and I'd like to think there's going to be another book about Olivia and Michael, as well as about Everett and Elaine.Nice romance with a few spicy scenes.
