I picked this up not realizing it was more paranormal romance than urban fantasy and boy am I sorry I didn't check into it further before I got sucked into reading this. I didn't like the characters at all, especially the male lead. He was selfish, not sexy, and overbearing. I don't understand why they fell in love even with the 'soulmate' angle. Really, just seems to me more like an excuse to jump into the numerous sex scenes instead of providing some background for why they can't live without each other. I see there is a second book and I will be staying far, far away.1.5/5 I finished Chapter Two and returned the book to the library. The whole I am your eternal mate and I am a badass alpha male just was not sitting with me well. When I read "mating ritual" I had to stop. Really?! Believe me, have read my fair share of alpha male "you are my woman and I am going to claim you" type of books but it has to have some sort of meat on it's bones. This one just did not grab my attention and run away with it.
