It jumped off the pages as they struggled and realized their joined path together. And I loved how Torin was so confident in their future, their destiny to be together. We are also introduced to several characters that will be the antagonists for the Awakened Witches. Their stories are blended into Shea and Torin’s. I am curious to see how these characters will interact with future stories of this series. In this world, the global efforts to capture all witches, the persecution of these women, the fear and the growing grass roots movement for witches’ rights was made very real. The characters were very passionate about whatever side they are on.Overall, this is a great read for anyone who loves paranormal romance/urban fantasy. And I cannot wait to see what’s next in this series. Shea Thompson is a witch in a world where witches are feared, hunted, imprisoned, and killed. Her soul mate, her Eternal, is Torin, who has been waiting for her through reincarnations to come back into her powers after she and her coven went to the dark side 800 years ago. This book sets up the world of Awakening, and introduces the task that Awakening witches and their Eternals have ahead of them. Shea and Torin's task is full of magic and danger. Hot. Recommended.
