Alice is a 17 year old girl, bored with her life. It seems school and nightclubs are the only things in her world. When Alice and her friend Jane are followed by thugs, they are rescued by Jack, who quickly becomes part of Alice's life. Suddenly she is spending all her time at Jack's house with his family. Slowly it dawns on Alice what is so special about Jack...The writing was interesting enough to keep me reading this story. Although there were quite a few decisions Alice made that I didn't understand, or characters that were too unrealistic. And the characters that my mind saw were suspiciously like twilight characters..... In theory, the book sounded really good, but once I started reading, I found that it progressed slowly, and the main character, Alice, had almost no common sense at all. I mean who just jumps into a strangers car in the club-zone of a city? I also found Jack less than appealing, so I hoped that Peter make up for it. Unfortunately, I found Peter boring, and honestly just found myself not caring after a while. In addition, when she finds out he's a vampire, her response seemed almost indifferent, like "Cool story bro". No normal human would have such a mundane response to finding out their best friend is a vampire. It also irritated me how Alice had almost no life outside of Jack. Sports? Hobbies? Nada. I just lost interest after a while, so I stopped reading. I don't think this is a bad book, I just personally didn't like it. Alice's thoughts could be funny sometimes, but overall, it just never hooked me.
