This review is based on the story by Kerrelyn Sparks:Lady Pamela has left the harem and is ready to strike out on her own. She is sick of always needing someone to rescue her and wants to be the person who does the rescuing. Therefore, she becomes "VampWoman". Disguised as her alter ego, Pam decides to help Jack, Zoltan and Mikhail in their fight against human traffickers. The only problem is they don't want her help. Mikhail goes so far as to teleport Pamela to his bedroom and threaten to tie her to his bed. Actually, Pam doesn't think that is a bad idea. This very short story is part of Sparks Love at Stake series. The characters have all appeared in previous books of the series. The story suffers from being too short with no originality. You won't miss anything in the series if you skip this story. My rating: 2.5 Stars. I know this was just a novella, and part of a larger anthology with other authors, but wow, could it have been more rushed? I don't think so. I've read novellas before that are way more developed so the length of the story can't be solely to blame. They went from "nice to meet you" to "I'll love you forever" in like 5 pages. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but not by much. Also, as a coven master, I felt like Mikhail deserved a full length novel. He's an important character and he deserved more of a story. Maybe in a future book, Pam can be killed off, and he can find love again. Seriously, that wouldn't bother me a bit.
