A powerful book about how Christians are to "stand out" and be different in the world.It's a clarion call that reminds me of David Platt's RADICAL or Francis Chan's CRAZY LOVE only it is more thoughtful and grace-filled than either of those books.Tchividjian writes with the heart of a pastor who deeply cares for his readers and wants to call them to a stronger discipleship. The chapters on Redemptive Love and Love verses Lust are especially helpful. The main point is that Christians need to be different in thinking (theology) than the world so that people know there is a difference and have something to be attracted to if they have that inclination. That living Biblically is necessarily unfashionable and should be so. This stands against the idea that the church should be the same as the world so that people are attracted to it. There is also a lot about the view that God wants to renew the present world, as opposed to making a totally new one.
