I quite enjoy this author's work and enjoyed this little novella. I thought Jackson's PTSD was done pretty well (not that I have any experience) but him dealing with flashback and not being the only thing he thought he was, a SEAL, worked for me. I liked that Addy didn't have a freak-out when he was rescued/kidnapped by Jackson. There was a bit of lightness to it, some banter and even Jackson's own thoughts that didn't get it bogged down. So definitely worth a read. I liked the main characters, Jackson's struggles with PTSD and trying to accept his injuries. Good action, great hurt-comfort, nice heroics. I wish we'd have gotten to know more about Addy and how the guys might relate to each other in the real world, but that's the price of reading a short. We don't really know all about what happened with the bad guys at the end, either. If this is the beginning of a series, that's okay. If not, then it was poor editing which left important details hanging. As Mandy said, a bit too much insta-everything, but the ending was a satisfying (and more realistic) HFN which worked for me. Especially if there's a sequel with Jackson'e friend Sport!
