About book Trust Me If You Dare (2010)

Trust me if you Dare, the second instalment of the Romano and Albright series by L.B. Gregg is as funny and entertaining as the first one. As before, it is mainly narrated from Caesar’s point of view, who finds himself again in the middle of a big mess. Caesar is now working with Poppy, who somehow convinces him to cater for Sheppard’s dinner party to flatter his fellow actors. Caesar has to do it on his own, as Poppy herself is a guess of the party. While trying to supply the party with food and waiters, Caesar has to deal with a very attractive and flirtatious German actor who seems to be making passes on both him and his boyfriend Dan. Besides, there is a very angry girlfriend on the run, who seems to have turned Caesar into her main target, and a revengeful bully with a kinky sexual life who seems to have something against Caesar as well. After suffering a couple of car accidents and a break-in in his nana’s place, Caesar is feeling a bit on the edge. But things can always go worse.I really like the way these books are written. The myriad of characters I came to like in the first book are still there: Poppy, Sheppard, Nana, Vito … Gunter Heidelbach is an interesting addition to this universe. I hope he’s come to stay. Above all, Caesar and Dan are endearing characters, and their relationship is evolving fast. They are facing their first issues, jealousy (which Caesar finds very surprising, because he had never experienced it before) and the awkwardness of the first while lies (Caesar does not feel prepare to face his boyfriend’s impressive family). But they are falling fast for each other, and by the end of the book we find them living together (for some time… or maybe for the long run). One example of the vivacious and funny way Caesar’s mind works is the way he realizes he is in love: His eyes were dark and wide and I climbed inside his gaze. I let go. I let go and fell free into him. Everything earthly gone except this union between Dan and me. Shit. I love him. That is funny. And poetic. And surprising. Exactly what these books are. I honestly hope there is a third book in the way. I would love to read more about this extremely entertaining universe. In Book 1 I found it cute and exciting finding them in tight situations where the chemistry was through the roof. With that said here are My IssuesTo arrive here where their both in the honeymoon phase of the relationship and NOT 1 in house sex scene. I would have taken the garage but NOPE. Most communication between the MC's are via phone/work relatI did not feel the chemistry between the Mc's in this book.
