I listened to this book on audibles. These are erotic novels, so the sex is explicit. Do not purchase if this bothers you. Touching Ice is the fourth book in the series and my favorite so far. I loved this couple. Meagan was so sweet and loving. Ice is unique, he is claustrophobic, he has unusual coloring, and is a nice guy. He has vowed never to get emotionally involved with a woman due to having been used so much by his people. Due to his unique coloring and cyborg law regarding the rare number of female cyborgs, Ice has been called on to make babies with many females involved in a family unit with other males that turn out to be sterile. Ice is not allowed to have any contact with those children, and feels that he loses a piece of his soul ever time he impregnates another woman. Thus, he chooses to visit an automated space station that supplies sex to male clients using female robots that look a lot like human women in order to take care of his sexual needs. Meagan is a software tech working behind the scenes on the station. Anyone who knows about the sex station, believes it is fully automated and no humans exist on it. In order to keep it a secret and avoid someone trying to use Megan to take over the station, they keep her a secret. She is not allowed to see any of the clients or what goes on with said clients; she only maintains the bots programming and the computer running the station, and it kept in a secret section of the station no one knows about. On the first visit that Ice makes, he is carrying a weapon, so the computer has to report it to Meagan and shows her the cyborg on video. Meagan is immediately attracted to and fascinated by the unusual looking man, so she programs him into the computer as a possible threat in order for the computer to let her know every time he comes to the station. This also allows Megan to witness his visit each time and voyeuristically watch everything Ice does with the bots. This leads Meagan to some serious fantasizing about being with the sexy cyborg herself. One night, a drunken pilot crashes into the station when attempting to dock. A distress signal is automatically sent out, and Ice comes with other cyborgs to rescue the sex bots. The plan is to drop them off on the next closest station as the bots are of extreme value to the company and anyone in space who uses them. The computer directs Meagan to escape with the bots on the same shuttle and she quickly realizes the cyborgs think she is one of the bots. Since she is afraid of the cyborgs knowing she is human, Megan remains quiet. Ice and his friend Onyx discuss which bots they are going to use first, and Megan finds herself getting jealous. When the cyborgs step away for a few minutes, Megan re-programs the bots to not pay attention and avoid Ice. It is too funny. He is forced to only have Meagan and she is not looking her best; dressed in sweats with a messy ponytail, and a sweaty body from running the ship to catch her last chance to escape. The couple was really entertaining to watch fall in love. There was also a lot of action and intrigue to keep the story moving. I never once got bored and found this story hard to put down. Definitely the best story in the series so far. Megan is so lonely as the only human programmer on the space brothel Folion. Her only companions are the annoying computer and the sex bots. When a tall, gray and sexy cyborg visits the establishment she's hooked and not above spying and fantasizing.When some drunk idiot crashes his ship into the Folion, she must evacuate with the sex bots. She ends up on Ice's ship and pretends she's also a sex bot (since no humans are supposed to be on the brothel ship). Ice knows she's human but doesn't know what to make of her. So he decides to play along and see what happens...and it's super hot.Can't wait to see what happened to Coal and the asshole Zorus.Scary run in with the creepy Markus androids.
