So, I've been reading these out of order, which is pretty unusual for me. I started with the first and liked it, but couldn't bring myself to read the second because of the cover. (I admit it, I do judge books - not people, but books - by their cover.) All the covers in this series are awful, but the ones with the men's faces are the worst. Anyway, I read all the ones without faces on the cover, then, after I ran through those and still wanted more, I gave this one a try. And... disappointment! The other books in this series feature likable characters, a fun setting, good descriptions, and stories you want to read. This one fell flat: the characters, their story, all of it. I just couldn't lose myself. I kept wanting to skim through it so I could just be done. The best part was the introduction to Coal, which was minor in the overall story (only a couple pages). But that was interesting enough to make me want to give his book a try (even despite the cover). I don't really feel like writing a whole review so I'm just going to point out a couple of things that I love and hate about the book.-I love Dawn-I hated Iron at first, but I loved him towards the end-I love red heads-I love Red heads-Did I mention that I love Redheads!-This book is my favorite so far-I love the series so far,but I hope she switch it up a bit. It seems like the same thing happens: Cyborg gets girl. Girl doesn't want to stay. Girl realizes that she loves him and will miss him when she leaves. Girl leaves. Girl comes back. Cyborg confesses love. They live happily ever after. I just want something different to happen. The ending was expected in this book. Hopefully the next one will deliver.
Do You like book Melting Iron (2010)?
I love Melting Iron. I loved that both Iron and Dawn were redheads. Can't wait to start on book 4.
