This book took a sharp departure from the previous, going from police procedural with a demon twist to fantasy world meets the karate kid. I'm not quite sure I liked it. I enjoyed the world and the book, but found a lot of it lagging. I don't really care about eighties style training sequences, I prefer demon murder! While I liked the new lords we meet in this book I missed the supporting cast from the previous novels. I wasn't sure how I felt about blondie in this book either - I never really trusted him and liked how you were unsure about his motivations, but this just felt like a really convenient change in personality so that he could be eliminated from the love triangle. I'm hoping the next book adds some more depth to his emotions. While this book lacked a lot of what I loved from the previous instalments, I will still definitely be continuing. I heard the next book is back on Earth at least! (thank god) Okay to start off... this book sucked!!! The writing was horrific and the only reason I read it was to see if Kara got back to Earth. Kara was a kick ass character in the first book and even in the second book, but the last few books she has turned into a whining mary-sue character... I didn't understand why all the lords wanted to have sex with her. and as for Mzatal he was a horrible character that seemed to turn a 180 when she was all hurt... didn't understand that at all. I usually don't write band reviews but this one couldn't go unwritten...
Another great Kara Gillian story! Keep up the great job, love this series.

Sadly, I didn't enjoy this one as much as I have the rest of the series.
