About book Toradora! Tom 1 (2013)

Everyone thinks that Takasu Ryuuji is a juvenile delinquent. But he's not. He just has squinty eyes, which make him look like he's glaring even when he's not. Really, he's just a normal high school guy with a demented parakeet, a mom who sleeps all day because she works nights at a club, a bespectacled best friend, and a huge crush on Kushieda Minori, a cheerful girl in his class. But then he finds a love note to his best friend in his bag, put there accidentally by the meanest, toughest girl in the school: the 'Palm Top Tiger', Aisaka Taiga. As it turns out, Aisaka had forgotten to put the actual letter in the envelope, but she doesn't know this, and attacks Takasu in his sleep at his house. Luckily he avoids being bludgeoned to death, and, after giving the envelope back, they reach an agreement: Aisaka will help Takasu get closer to Kushieda, but only if he helps her get closer to his best friend, and practically be her slave. This means making her meals, waking her up in the morning, walking her to school, etc. etc. But then their classmates start wondering why they're spending so much time together...I laughed out loud reading this book. Which is kind of embarrassing when you just so happened to be reading in public. The art is good, though the panel placement is about average and could stand a little more creativity. The characters are amusing, the premise is interesting, and the ending does a great job of making you want the next book (NOW!!!) I recommend it, even for those who don't like shoujo very much. Now if you'll excuse me I've got to get my hands on volume two. Goodbye. Toradora! Was an awesome manga. I had never read the light novels nor watched the anime, but once I read this I was compelled to do so. It is magnificent. The art is great, the story is great, what more can be said?Well, lots. But I really don't feel like typing every pro and con so if you haven't read the book, read it! If you have read the book, then why are you reading my review? You know it's an awesome book!

I forget which came first, but the Anime and Manga are very close to each other.
