Emma-Rose, a dark-sky loving teen, feels as though she's out of place with everyone around her loving the sunshine and being happy, Emma-Rose wanted to know why she was different from everyone else, she hates garlic, loves rare burgers, has inhumanly sharp canines and loves dark and rainy weather. But when her aunt comes to stay over from another country she finds a reason that might be right, so she follows her aunt everywhere and tries to get as much information about her as she can, then, something unexpected ends the story. This book was way less creepy then the first book in the series. Emma Rose thinks she might be a vampire when her Great Aunt visits from Transylvania (who clearly is a vampire) and Emma Rose see's the similarities between them. At the same time she is fighting with her best friend Gabby, which is making her sad. But her belief that she may be a vampire is giving her a ton of confidence. She's making new friends, in charge of decorating for the dance and talking to the boy she likes. I really liked this book. I love any book where you get to see a character come out of her shell. I also finally figured out that these books don't include the same characters or seem to really be connected other then being about paranormal characters.
Do You like book This Totally Bites! (2010)?
This book "Totally Bites" is about 12 year old Emma-Rose. She has always considered herself different from her parents, her friends, and her peers. She has jet-black hair, pale skin, despises garlic, and isn't exactly a big fan of sunny weather. Emma-rose considers herself almost completely normal until one day her aunt comes to visit and strange things start happening. Emma-Rose may have to face the fact that she could really be a blood sucking creature of the night!I chose this book because I love to read stories about teen vampires (not true blood), just the cure ones for kids.

I just read this book with Ella. It was a little bit difficult reading for her so we read it together. It was very cute & she's into the whole monster thing right now so she loved it. Some parts were a bit scary, but overall it's just fun. She is going to try to read the other books in the series. According to scholastic this book is at 5th grade level, while the others range between 3rd & 4th so they may be easier.
