This book is a quick and a nice read. Although it was a quick read it was still touching. The writing was beautiful because it was very smoothly written, as if everything you read was crystal clear. Even though I wouldn't a different, a more happy ending to the book, I still enjoyed the book. One weakness I believe this book had was how it was kind of a re-told story of "The Ballad of Mulan" but in some parts of the book had no connection to Mulan. The book is not part of a series but the author has other books similar to this book but with other re-told novels. I can't connect with this book because I am not a princess and I don't have a desire to do boy things like the girl in this book. Overall the book was interesting and good. Okay, can I PLEASE get a balanced story here? I feel like Cameron Dokey poured out her heart and soul into creating this beautiful introduction to the story, and then the end just collapsed into a rushed glob of confusion. Really? THAT'S how Mulan became a hero? Honestly, the epic war scenes from the Disney movie were better than that. And considering her true love thought she was a boy the whole time, I feel like that relationship needed a bit more development. I just didn't BELIEVE that they loved each other. It seemed like just because the author said so, it happened. I didn't feel much at all. I mean the first half of the story was absolutely wonderful. I just wish the last half had delivered.
i hate this book so much and is super un interesting i rather just go watch the movie EEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
