This is one of the wierdest and depressing books I have read in a long time. The story begins when a billionaire approaches an ordinary sales girl, Sapna Sinha, and asks her to become the CEO of his $10 billion company. But Sapna has to prove her worth by passing 7 tests. SHe has no choice,but to agree because her family is really poor and about to be thrown out of their home. Basically these tests are challenges thrown at herby the billionaire. For example in one of the tests he bribes a doctor to tll her that her mom needs a kidney transplant. The tests and how she overcomes these is the plot of the story. The book is divided into 7 chapters, each dedicated to one test. The story progresses as Sapna passes the tests, one-by-one Each of the tests involves a story which is crazy and depressing.In the end there is a twist which I cannot write as it will spoil the story for anyone who wants to read this book.I recommend this book to anyone who finds the social-economic situation inIndia fascinating. In addition anyone who loved Slumdog Millionaire will love this too. La vera lezione è la vita Bellissimo! Anche in questo suo ultimo romanzo, Swarup ci regala uno spaccato dell'India, nei suoi pregi e difetti, nei suoi profumi e colori, ma anche nei suoi cattivi odori e inganni. Con la scusa di raccontare le 7 prove che la protagonista deve superare per diventare amministratrice delegata di un'azienda prestigiosa e quindi cambiare il suo status sociale, vengono narrate 7 storie, 7 realtà indiane ma non solo, su cui è impossibile non soffermarsi a riflettere: traffico degli organi, fama e successo a tutti i costi, voglia di cambiare il mondo con la propria forza e determinazione, differenze sociali e molte altre. Il tutto con un mistero da risolvere e con tanta suspense al finale. Certo, "Le 12 domande" rimane il capolavoro di questo Autore, ma anche "Apprendista per caso" è assolutamente consigliato!
