I actually read the first book of the series years ago but only got the time to continue the series just now. As usual I am fascinated by how I could picture the whole action in my head. Although I still like the first one better but I can't help to be awed by how awkward you would be in between current girlfriend AND ex-wife but [SPOILER AHEAD] the evil ex-wife. The only thing I found weird is how easy to dismiss the ex-wife. I don't mind to prolong headhunt of the ex-wife but getting her done by your apartment door is one downfall of this book. Hence, I still love the bickering and lovers quarrel between Eddie and Nina. Ooooh, I also love Wilde-Chases pun. Wow what a great second adventure for Nina Wilde, a career focussed archaeologist along with her trusty and humour filled sidekick, come fiancé and always bodyguard Eddie Chase. I loved the action pace of this book, along with the humour, betrayal, twists and turns which come thick and fast in the search for the tomb of Hercules. Is the tomb real or is it really a myth; its this main theme that literally keeps you turning pages just to see where the story goes to next.Oh yes and don't forget to mix in an ex wife of Eddies who is British aristocracy. This alone keeps you wondering just how good looking and charming is our ex SAS hero Mr Eddie Chase who seems to have a never ending stream of female friends who owe their lives to him in every city on the planet.I loved the sometimes far fetched nature of the story, especially when it ensured that the pace of the story kept moving. The description of the places and things that Nina and Eddie visited ensured that I really felt like I was right there along with them. What an adventure it was to read this story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cant wait to read Nina and Eddie's next adventure; which is always the sign of a good book for me.
