This book was also filled with tremendous action and suspense. Chase and his friends have survived Hurricane Emily but now they have to deal with the flood surge. They are on Emily's farm where an elephant from the Rossi Brother's Circus is getting ready to give birth. Of course, they loose power and Chase has to try to brave the residue of the storm and the floodwaters to get fuel for the generator. On top of this, some of the big cats, the most dangerous one, are missing. This is a great series for young adults and interesting enough for adults. Storm Runners The SergeBy Roland SmithAction / Adventure133 pages Storm Runners by Roland Smith ends with Chase and his new friends trying to stay alive during one of the worst hurricanes in the U.S. history. Book #2 The Surge picks up just as chase, Nicole, and Rashawn arrive back at the Rossi’s farm. The Rossi’s house got destroyed, and an escaped leopard has been seen running with a little monkey dangling from its jaws. Nicole’s grandmother Momma Rossi is standing by ready to help a pregnant elephant deliver her calf. While Chase and Nicole try to survive in the storm to get gas for the generator, Rashawn gets to know Momma Rossi. At the same time Chase’s dad is working with several news crew members to find a way to get out of the farm. However, they have caught by the huge storm and their car has flipped. Even they flipped their car they still alive at the nearest hurricane shelter. News anchor Richard Krupp was trying to get to the farmer no matter what he agrees to let them take the stations news vans as long as he gets to go along. He have had carried small camera in his hand to record the wild animals attack and escape. For this book, I would recommend other people to read this book because author Roalnd Smith keeps readers on the edge on their seat as he relate the non-stop action facing. He showed with a lot of action scenes to keep readers attention to book and not to get bored while people reading. I guess that is why people gave this book for four stars.
