Unfortunately, this is one of those books where the sequel just does not match up to the quality of the first book. Storm Runners left off in the middle of the hurricane, so of course everyone will want to read this one, but the way it jumps back and forth between our main characters and more minor characters is frustrating. I would have been much happier if the news team's story was just left out altogether! And then the Mexican earthquake seems contrived, like Roland Smith had to think of another disaster to throw in quickly since the hurricane was ending. Hmph. Book 2 of the Storm Runners trilogy. Chase and his two classmates, Nicole Rossi and Rashawn Stone, have finally arrived to safety at the winter quarters of the Rossi Circus. Their safety is only relative, however, as they find that the Rossi house has blown over, forcing Mama Rossi and the kids to take shelter in a metal barn; the elephant housed in the barn is about to give birth; and the lions and the leopard have gotten out of their cages and are roaming wild both over the property and in the destroyed buildings. To complicate matters, some of the supplies the humans need are in another outbuilding and the kids have to face wind, floodwaters, and roaming big cats to retrieve them.

The book really goes into detail and explains it like you are there in the book with them.
