It was a cute, sweet little number. I agree about the sentiment - I often wish there was more Jacob, especially because from Vic's POV, he really does seem waaay too good to be true. I mean, he never, ever questions how he feels about Vic and is such an amazingly stable constant force that he doesn't quite seem real (I think that when I was first reading, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Some kind of major rift, some kind of crisis in faith or something. Was it cuz Vic was under the impression that Jacob was straight before? I have a vague impression of that, but I might just be getting my plotlines mixed up.) The Stroke of Midnight is book 3.1, a short story in the Psy-Cop Paranormal Series by Jordan Castillo Price. In this story, Victor and Jacob are on their way to a New Year’s Eve house party at Keith and Manny’s place. Victor is called out on a job, and Jacob attends alone. Keith is Jacob’s ex and he spends the night sniping at him about his job and boyfriend. Jake wonders if its because he misses the force or is jealous. He heads home before midnight to read and wait for Vic to get home. Vic sneaks in for a kiss and they share a moment before he returns to work.

A sweet little NY eve short from Jacob's POV. I really liked being in Jabob's head.
